Gardendale is a large new high school where Miller-Mize produced three column/surround entries and miscellaneous seat wall copings. Each entry has two 24' high by 3' 4" diameter entasis columns. The front entry shown in the picture is the smallest of the three, measuring 44' wide by 34' high and 12' deep. The other two entries are the same as the one shown above from a width and height dimension but the depth of the other two is 20' deep.
There are eight vertical layers to each entasis column with each layer being divided into quarters. As each layer is a support to the next, the pieces are doweled across the joints of the layer below to provide an interlocking effect to ensure proper fit of each piece. The top of each piece is then strap welded to a center steel support beam.
